Television

Henry Hsieh asked:

Anime is one of the best things that could possibly happen to television. Since its debut outside Japan, anime has reeled in millions and millions of fans. However, there are those that remain skeptical of anime, thinking of it only as a glammed up version of the typical cartoons that we see on TV. They take one look at the too perfect faces, the out of his world costumes, and the quintessential talking animals and they immediately dismiss anime as childish. Well, we as watchers of anime know that there’s much more to anime beneath its cartoonish facade.

There are several hidden messages in anime, messages that speak directly to the soul, messages about life’s lessons and truths. They might be hard to see at face value but if you look past all the humor and all the drama, you’ll see that what the characters are going through, be it a robot invasion or one-on-one battle with a dragon, are essentially the same things that we’re going through… just translated into fantasy. And every obstacle they encounter, every moral dilemma they face, we can relate to in some way or another.

Take Naruto for example. He is a young orphan boy who has been ostracized by his village for having a demon fox sealed inside of him. Now, I doubt that any of you who are reading this have demon foxes sealed inside of you. But I can bet that some of you have felt ostracized, unwanted, underestimated, and utterly alone at some point in your lives. And even when all you want is a bit of acknowledgment, nobody seems to want to give it to you. And here’s where Naruto’s hidden message comes in even in Naruto Shippuden… it’s a challenge to all of us, to do what Naruto is currently doing: never giving up. It’s a challenge for us to take on his nindo and to never back out on our own words.

Almost all of the characters have hidden messages within their own stories and backgrounds. Take Zabuza, he is portrayed as a heartless killer, a villain, someone whom we are programmed to hate. And yet, at the final moments of his life, it is revealed that despite all his brusqueness, he is still human, like all of us. And he knows how to value and be grateful to those he loves. The message in this is clear, those who have done several misdeeds are still human, and we owe it to them and to ourselves to coax the humanity out of them.

And it’s not just the characters that are worth looking into either. The themes and plots of several anime deserve a lot of praise for their insight and ingeniousness. Look at the anime Deathnote, if you take it at face value, it’s nothing more than just a very well-written and well-portrayed thriller, complete with some of the best plot twists ever concocted in anime history. But if you look at its theme, you’ll see that it’s about the classic debate on justice… is it just to kill evil men for the sake of protecting those who are good? Or should we allow evil men to live on the premise that they’re human like all of us? It’s even reminiscent of the age-old debate about the death penalty. Do we really have the right to kill another human being?

Indeed, the hidden messages in anime are very thought provoking and it fosters self analysis at many levels. They might just change the way we view our lives if we take a more serious approach to them and utilize its life provoking lesson to make our society a better place. Yes, all in all it’s just anime but the power that it brings onto the table should never be underestimated.

Hey, so, above are the basic tricks that one needs to ponder over to make ‘Naruto’ downloads and to watch the show online.

Henry Hsieh asked:

Many anime enthusiasts especially Naruto or Naruto Shippuden over the net create their own AMV’s and raves about them. What is an AMV? An AMV stands for “Anime Music Video. An anime music video is a video made from compiled scenes from a specific or a mixture of various anime with the background music of any song that the user might deem fancy. They’re rapidly gaining popularity over the internet with millions and millions of people, mostly kids, trying their hand at making their own versions of these videos. AMV’s are usually displayed in video streaming sites such as youtube, livevideo, and veoh. What’s so great about these videos is that they allow you to enjoy your favorite music while watching all the best scenes of your favorite anime.

Making Anime Music Videos

Anime Music Videos are rather easy to make. All you need is a program like the Windows Movie Maker and a bunch of clips from the anime of your choice and of course, the music you’re going to use for the background.

Good AMV’s, however, are a different matter. You see, there are several AMV’s in the net that are of poor quality because they’re simply very tough to make and it requires a large portion of time. To create a fully well synchronized AMV along with the music is rather tough because usually the music beats a lot of time is very different in comparison to the timing of various clips or scenes inside the anime. Creativity is also another area that’s tough as well; it requires a lot of time, patience, a good eye, and a good listening ear to grasp all the essence which it delivers together. To match the scenes with the music, consider every single beat and even the lyrics are all important parts in order to make a good AMV. It also helps if you have an advanced program such as Sony Vegas so that you can have more choices in editing, thereby enabling you to make exceptionally awesome AMV’s. Some of the more advanced AMV makers are even going so far as to cut out the characters of an anime in some scene and impose them upon a different background, enabling them to make their own stories out of the graphics already made available to them through the wonders of the internet.

Once you’re done making your AMV, all you need to do is to save it onto an .avi format and upload it to your favorite video streaming site. Most people prefer youtube as their primary source of video streaming site, but as you may have heard, there’s an issue surrounding youtube and AMV’s so pick your video stream sites wisely!

Anime Music Videos and Copyrighting

When you make an anime music video, you’re automatically infringing on the copyright of the true owners of the resources that you are using. The footage that you’re using isn’t yours; it is the rightful property of the animator who has created the anime. If you don’t have the permission to use it, then you’re infringing upon their rights. Same goes with the music that you’re using for your AMV. The music belongs to the artists, the singers, and not to you. If you don’t have any permission or if you’re not giving credit, then you don’t have the right to use it.

Recently, youtube has been placed in hot water due to the numerous infringements of the copyright law in their website. And since they’re based on the US, they really have no choice but to comply and to remove the AMV’s that their costumers made. This, however, is causing a lot of discontent from their subscribers, thereby putting youtube in a precarious position.

So, if you’re going to make an AMV, make sure that you’re not violating any copyright laws out of respect. But if you’re insistent, then hey, who’s there to stop you?

Henry Hsieh asked:

Utopia – a perfect world, something that people long for and yet never seek because it’s impossible.  Anyone who even attempts to create a utopia nowadays will probably be scoffed at and scorned for their naive idealism.  And yet, it still fascinates us, this impossible concept.  And though it might not be realistic to dream that we will be living in a ‘utopia’ anytime soon, we can still recreate it in our dreams and fantasies.  And thus, this is one of the concepts most prevalent in the plots of several anime series: the quest for the famed and fabled utopia.

The anime that first comes into my mind when I hear the words ‘utopia’ and ‘anime’ in a single sentence is Deathnote.  Yagami Light, the main character, was someone who was disillusioned with how horrible the world has become, with its ever increasing crime rates and the ever worsening condition of the society.  But when he got hold of a deathnote, a notebook which he could use to kill anyone he wants to as long as he knows the person’s name and face, he started using this to create his own world a utopia of sorts based in his own definition.  He wanted to create a world wherein the good citizens would be free to roam.  He theorized that society would be perfect as long if you remove the bad eggs.  However, his method of ‘cleansing’ the world was through oppression.  And instead of creating a utopia, he would be creating a dystopia, where the main oppressor would be him and all people would bow down to him as their ‘god’.  Of course, this kind of thinking would never go unpunished.  A dystopia, wherein people live in total oppression, would be even worse than a world that could never be a utopia.  And it is because of this that L, the world’s top detective, decides to counter Light’s actions.  Thus begins the elusive game of cat and mouse.

A similar situation wherein a character wants to create a utopia would be in the anime, Naruto.  It has recently been revealed in the manga that the Akatsuki’s aim is to pit the nations against each other and to make the nations dependent on them and their weapons (the Jinchuuriki), enabling the Akatsuki to ultimately take control of the world.  Upon further delving into the background of the Akatsuki Leader, Pein from Naruto Shippuden, we find out that he has had traumatizing experiences as a child because of the war that broke out in his country.  And to end all wars, he decides to wreak havoc on all the other countries, causing war, in order to make them feel the pain that he felt.  He thinks that by making people feel the pain, he can compel them to feel disgusted at all forms of war, thereby bringing peace.  It’s a lovely concept except that it’s weak and likely to fail.

In fact, it’s an irony that villains are usually the ones who are trying to create a utopia, only to cause more harm in their attempt to bring perfection.  As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.  And I guess this is what makes those characters so appealing – their desire for utopia is a desire that all of us share.  And yet, most of us are content to just sit back and dismiss it as impossible.  These characters, however, represent those who aren’t afraid to try.  Against all odds, they strived for their goal, misled as they were.

Watch free anime online because the experience of watching your favorite anime in all its episodes is a viewing experience like no other. You don’t have to wait for to wait for the scheduled airings on your subscribed channel network for that daily episode to be featured. With the help of the internet, you can watch all those episodes of Naruto, Bleach, or Curious Play without having to go through the very bothersome commercial breaks and time constraints of you favorite television network’s prime time line-up.

Another good thing is that when you watch free anime online, obviously, you get to watch all those episodes for free. This will really save you lots of money from buying DVD collections of many episodes of one anime per season, especially in cases of Bleach, One Piece or Naruto, which are anime series that range up to more than hundreds of episodes. One should never be constrained from watching his or her favorite anime show, and that’s why there are many websites on the internet that let you watch all these great episodes.

These great cartoons that originated from the Japanese art and culture have really made its way through the multimedia entertainment industry that made a whole new genre of its own. No wonder the demand for these episodes are really high. So don’t be left out with the trend, watch all those episodes for free, and enjoy these anime shows yourself. There’s so much to choose from for all types of people.

Watch free anime and all their great episodes such as the ever popular Naruto, Samurai X, Bleach and other anime series in the most convenient means possible. The trend nowadays for anime fans when it comes to watching episodes of their favorite series involves online video streaming that is readily available in so many websites on the internet. What these fans do is that they log on to a certain website and stream episodes of, for example, Bleach, by batches so that by the time they are done with the first episode or the most recent episode they haven’t watched yet they move on to the next which have already been loaded during the time they were watching the last one. It’s very convenient and fast and much better than waiting for their airing schedules on regular television.

These videos being referred to are actually uploaded by ordinary fans of these anime from all over the world. They take copies of the episodes of an anime that they have and upload them to these websites that allow video posting for free. And because hundreds of anime fans selflessly upload these episodes it results to the fact that there are countless episodes readily available for every anime fan who want to watch free anime series.

This is definitely much better than watching regular television or having to buy DVD collections that compile these episodes for every season per title. With this method you can definitely watch episodes all day as long as you want and as much as you want.

Henry Hsieh asked:

Gundam is one of the anime series that has made history. Its popularity has skyrocketed. Each of its series, from the original Gundam to the various sequels has amassed millions and millions of fans worldwide. And who can blame them for worshipping this series? Gundam is one of the best anime series ever shown. It has a dynamic plot that’s full of mystery and intrigue, it has well-rounded and realistic characters, it has a setting complete with its own history, politics, and geography… and it has gigantic, indestructible robots to boot! I mean, seriously, who in the world can resist mecha?

There has already been several Gundam series, all of them relatively successful. Sunrise, the makers of Gundam, has announced that Mobil Suit Gundam00 will be the next installment in the series last June 2007. It will be composed of two seasons in all. The first season has already started airing and the second season is set to air on October of 2008.

Plot

Gundam00 is set on the year 2307, an era where the world’s fossil fuel has already been depleted and the world relies solely on three solar powered generators stationed around the earth’s orbit. The three stations are controlled by the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations (USA and Australia), the Human Reform League (India, China, Russia, and the members of the ASEAN), and Advanced European Union (the whole of Europe). They begin fighting each other over the world’s energy, until a force called Celestial Being, a private military organization, emerged. The Celestial Being promises to bring peace on Earth and is aided by four Gundams. And thus Gundam 00 brings up the age old debate:

whether it is right to fight evil with another evil, whether it is right to end war by making war.

Gundam00’s plot is, as the other Gundam series have been, suffused with an abundant amount of politics and warfare. And in the true Gundam tradition, the line between good and evil, right and wrong, is

blurred to the point that you won’t be able to know who is really in the right. There are distinct similarities of the world of Gundam00 to that of our current world, post-9/11. And the way it’s portrayed is intriguing enough to compel many people to watch it.

Animation

Gundam00 is to be the first Gundam series to be shot in high-definition. Simply put, the animation is shiny, fluid, and jaw-droppingly amazing. There is a nice change from the awkward angular movements of the robots of the previous Gundam movies. Not only that, Gundam00 has upped it one level and given each of the robots distinct characteristics and motions.

The makers of Gundam00 didn’t bother to water down the horror of war either. What you will be seeing if you watch Gundam would be an honest portrayal of the gruesomeness of war – amazingly animated and in full Technicolor! Just imagine all those weapons of warfare silhouetted against one of the most colorful and beautiful sunsets ever painted in the history of Gundam.

Indeed, Gundam00 is a must-see. The first season is currently airing, with 25 episodes all in all. So, if you haven’t started watching Gundam00, I suggest you start watching these episodes asap before the second season comes out. Along with Naruto and Naruto Shippuden streamed, you can aslo watch Gundam 00 at Tailedfox.com .

Henry Hsieh asked:

The identity of Naruto’s father has been the subject of speculation for Naruto fans for a long time. There have been heated debates – even full-blown internet flaming wars – about the mystery that is Naruto’s father.

The Fourth Hokage Theory

Most people believed that Naruto’s father was the Yondaime or the Fourth Hokage. The resemblance between the Yondaime and Naruto is striking – they both have blue eyes and yellow hair and they even have the same smile. And since Naruto is an orphan and the fourth died fighting with the Kyuubi – it all made sense.

Some people even went so far as to believe that the Yondaime, though it was clearly stated that he died fighting the Kyuubi, somehow survived and lived on to become the Akatsuki leader. They believed that everything – from the sealing of the Kyuubi inside Naruto until the hunting of the Jinchuuruki by the Akatsuki – was all part of an elaborate plot concocted by the genius mind of the Fourth Hokage. They believed that what was shown about the Yondaime was just a hoax, he was actually evil despite the fact that all the people of Konoha loved him and that he was willing to die for them.

However, there were many people who disagreed with these believers of ‘Yondaime is Naruto’s father theory’ because they couldn’t understand why a father would seal something like the Kyuubi inside his own son. Some believed that it would just be ‘too obvious’ and that Kishimoto can’t possibly write something so obvious – there has to be a twist. Some believed that the Yondaime was Naruto’s uncle, or brother, or some other distant relative – just not his father.

There were even people who believed that the Akatsuki leader (who they believed was not Yondaime) was actually Naruto’s father. And, for some reason, he was hunting his own son. This theory was reinforced by the fact that the Akatsuki Leader’s shadow looked somewhat like he had the same hair as Naruto. And when the Akatsuki’s leaders face was revealed to have a striking resemblance to Naruto too, this theory gathered more supporters. And they believed that a Star Wars scene with the Akatsuki Leader saying “Naruto, I am your father” was not such a far off possibility.

There were other theories – some so farfetched and random that you’d have to wonder what the fans smoked in order to come up with it. But all those theories were dispelled once Chapter 367 of the manga came.

The Revelation

Chapter 367 is a perfect example of how the simplest answers are almost always the right ones. It turned out that the blatant was actually true and the Fourth Hokage really is Naruto’s father. Jiraiya and Tsunade confirmed it all and even revealed the Yondaime’s name to be Namikaze Minato.

But if the fourth is Naruto’s father, then why is his name Uzumaki Naruto and not Namikaze Naruto? Where does the Uzumaki come from? It turns out that, for some reason, Naruto got his mother’s surname instead of his father’s. And it’s not really heartless for Minato to seal Kyuubi inside Naruto since it was, after all, his dying wish that Naruto be treated as a hero for having to contend with having a monster inside him. He died believing that the villagers would love Naruto, he had no idea that they would do the opposite. This chapter has yet to be made into a Naruto episodes, but it should be revealed in Naruto Shippuden pretty soon.

Brandon Hopkins asked:

If you’re a Naruto fan, then you know how the Sharingan red eyes peer deep into the soul of anyone the contact. For those who aren’t Naruto fans, Sharingan have deep red eyes, circled by a thin black line with either 3 or 4 black dots arranged in a semi-circular pattern around the cornea.

Since the Sharingan are so popular, there are a few companies that have started making sharingan contact lenses. These contact lenses look exactly like you see on all of the Naruto shows. I have two of these contact lenses in person, and both looked spectactular.

The first sharingan contact lens I saw resembled a radioactive sign with 2 dots at the top and one dot in the middle below the top two dots. These contacts had a thin black line around the outside that faded into the middle. They looked good, but not as good as a the second set of contacts I saw. The second pair looked like exact duplicates.

The second pair of Sharingan contacts I saw were hand painted and looked like they were created by the same artist the drew the Sharingan. The lenses were the standard red and black. The full contact was red with a thin black line bordering the outside. In the middle, the pupil was black and there was another faint black line outside the pupil. Attached to that line were two dots in the north west and south east corners of the eye. An exact replication!

These lenses will instantly connect you with any Naruto fans you come in contact with. They’re perfect for conventions and meet ups with other fans.

Next time you’re at a Comic Con, make sure and look for other people wearing Naruto contact lenses!

Henry Hsieh asked:

Knowing that your favorite anime series is about to end is a lot like graduating from high school. It gives you mixed feelings – relief and despair. Relief because, if the author’s nice, all the loose ends will be tied and you’ll finally get your resolution and despair because you know that you’ll know that, come next week, you’ll no longer be sitting giddily in front of the TV waiting for your favorite show to air.

Rumors of the End

Recently, a lot of Naruto fans have been predicting that Naruto would end soon. And of course, it has created quite a racket among the Naruto fans because, really, who wants that anime to end? Sure, we all want to see if Naruto really does become Hokage, we all want to find out if Sasuke and Sakura get married, and we all want to see if Kakashi ever does take off his mask. But then again, Naruto has been with us for such a long time now – since 1999 for the manga and since 2002 for the anime. And Naruto’s almost like a friend now – a little brother. And tuning in every week to see what happens to him has become such a familiar routine that it’s hard to imagine a month without that knuckleheaded ninja that we all love.

This rumor – that Naruto would end soon – is still circulating even now as you read. The main question is – is it true? Frankly, I doubt it. There are just too many unresolved issues in Naruto right now that it doesn’t seem feasible that the anime would end soon. A good indication that the anime’s about to end is if the manga is nearing its end. And take it from an avid manga reader, Naruto’s just warming up. The first part of Naruto before the timeskip was like an introduction of characters compared to the depth of Naruto Shippuden right now. All those issues in Naruto – the kyuubi, the Uchiha clan, the Akatsuki – they’re all being explored in Shippuden right now. They’re being dissected, and each day, we learn something new and the plot only gets deeper and deeper.

Part 1 was barely stroking the surface. There was more to the Kyuubi than met the eye. It wasn’t just a rampaging monster – the Kyuubi had ties to the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Madara to be exact. It seems that the Uchiha clan has more secrets that have yet to be revealed. There seems to be more to the Uchiha Clan’s massacre than we were led to believe. Also, there’s the appearance of the Rinnegan, the strongest doujutsu ever in the Naruto universe, and it is further complicated by the fact that it is the Akatsuki Leader who owns this eye technique. There’s also the matter of Kabutomaru – the combination of Orochimaru and Kabuto. Then there’s the whole matter of the root ANBU.

So, When Will Naruto End?

If you want an honest answer, then I’d say that I have no idea. Only Kishimoto can tell. It’s his story and he could end it tomorrow by killing off the characters with a comet if he so desired and we wouldn’t be able to do a thing about it. All we can do is speculate.

Really, there’s just too many things going on in Naruto right now that it doesn’t seem like it’s going to end any time soon – at least, not in the next few years. So, I suggest you start loving that blond-haired ninja right now because it looks like Naruto’s here to stay.
